Colen Enterprises is currently looking for marketing interns to help create and implement new ways to market our educational materials! If you are passionate about patient education and always maintain a positive and friendly attitude, then we would love to have you!

Duties and tasks will include reaching out to local media outlets to gain exposure for our products. You should also be able to come up with new and innovate ways in which we can increase exposure and reach out to the community!

This is a part-time opportunity that can be done in exchange for college credit.

Colen Enterprises is currently involved in a number of projects geared at improving our current product line.

Of particular interest due to the upcoming neurology board examinations in the fall, is our recent effort to improve our Board review flash-cards.

The end of the summer (2010) marks the anticipated release time-frame of the third edition of the Colen Flash-Review.

A more organized format and the increased clarification of included concepts provides the reader with an improved way of learning material that is imperative to successful performance on the boards.

What is now the entirety of Colen Enterprises, first began as Colen Publishing back in 2003 when Chaim B. Colen, M.D. published his first medical handbook, The Handbook of Pediatric Neurosurgery. Dr. Colen was a resident at Wayne State University and felt there was a need for such a manual since none existed at the time. From here, Colen Publishing was created and expanded the product line to include various sets of comprehensive flashcard board reviews. Topics covered in these flashcards now encompass neurosurgery, neurology, pathology, biology, radiology, and anatomy, as well as USMLE Step 1 and Step 2.

Colen Publishing became fully incorporate as a limited liability company in 2007 and is continually working to expand its product line, incorporating new topics into the list of upcoming medical manuals and current board-review flashcards.

This app features an impressive array of questions designed to mimic those seen on the neurosurgery and neurology board examinations. The application was designed to assist the time-constrained neurosurgery/neurology resident in preparing for these examinations by offering a comprehensive flash-card-style review available for the iPhone (and accordingly the iPod Touch and iPad).

The full version of the Colen Flash Review is completed and scheduled for release this summer of 2010, boasting over 1,000 board-style questions. These questions present the user with High-Yield facts related to the areas tested on the Neurosurgery and Neurology Board Examinations: neuroanatomy, neurobiology, neuropathology, neuroradiology, neurosurgery, neurology, neuropharmacology, neurobehavioral, neurocritical care and biostatistics. High quality images of board-related pathology, radiology and anatomy alongside comprehensive illustrations of difficult concepts in biology, neurosurgery, neurology and critical care accompany this series.

A free sampler application is currently available and has been successfully downloaded by a number of individuals in anticipation of the full version’s release. The sampler includes 85 board-style questions together with corresponding answers that provide a coherent and thorough explanation of concepts. A quiz tool is also featured on the application, allowing for the user to track progress that is made.

This application is specifically geared towards both the neurosurgery and neurology disciplines; the American Board of Neurological Surgeons (ABNS) and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), although applications pertaining to other medical specialties are currently in production at Colen Ventures.
